A new, exciting (or at least perhaps engaging), slight demented adventure begins tomorrow on Splattworks, splattsights companion blog. Don't change the channel....
splattsights is designed to be sort of a photo diary, where I add a picture each day or each couple of days. It will also eventually serve as a place people can order prints, if they're so moved. I welcome comments on the images (though comments will be moderated). I'm also including a section called "Contact Sheet" to list photographers whose work I appreciate.
Purchasing Prints*
I'm not intending to make this blog a commercial website by any means, but I am frequently asked whether or not I sell prints. In the past, I've hesitated due to permanance questions regarding color inkjet prints, but I recently purchased a Canon PIXMA Pro9000 printer, which uses Canon Chromalife inks, which, printed on archival paper, are rated to last 30 years displayed under glass and 100 years in archival binders, which makes them about as permanent as color prints produced chemically. If you see an asterisk (*) next to a post title, it means the print is available for order.
Two prices are given, the first for unmounted prints sent in a mailing tube, the second for mounted/framed prints set in an archival, simple black metal frame with archival matting and glass. Please add $12.95 per print for shipping within the United States. (If you're in Portland, I can also arrange to deliver the prints to you.) All prints are printed on archival papers, and you can request glossy or pearl finishes. Personally, I think the glossy prints look better with my printer.
8x10: $50/$75 11x14: $75/$110 13x19: $100/$145
As my black & white work is handmade in the darkroom using traditional silver processes, I'm still working out the prices for those. To order, send check or money order to: Steve Patterson, 4700 SE 71st Ave., Portland, OR 97206. Eventually, if there's sufficient interest, I may set up a PayPal account. If you'd like to give me call to discuss an order, my number is 503-312-6665 and my e-mail is splatterson@mindspring.com.
